Why to visit Kek Lok Si Temple

Located at Penang hill, the Kel Lok Si Temple has the largest Buddhist Temple in Malaysia, which provides an extraordinary view overlooking George Town and Penang. This temple is a three-storey architectural with a large Buddha statue and the statue of Kuan Yih, the Goddess of Mercy. It is said that if one will stop to feed a turtle or release one from the Famous Liberation Pond, can bring a good luck.

Renowned for it's millions of magnificent images of Buddha and hundreds of beautiful meaningful carvings, sculptures and murals in the interior and exterior of the temple halls, pagodas and archways. Additionally, you can find several temples as well as shops selling souvenirs, handicrafts, religious items and foods.

Special Tip

The best time for visiting the temple is during the Chinese New Year Festivities celebration.
