Why to visit Dataran Lang
Eagle Square is around 19 acres in size, with covered terraces, tiny ponds, fountains, footbridges, shops, and cafes. There are additional covered pavilions where activities are hosted in the square. The square provides stunning views of Kuah Bay, which leads into the sea, as well as the neighbouring mountains. The ferries crossing the bay may also be seen from the square. The square and the eagle are lighted with lights after dark.
On Langkawi, Dataran Lang, or Eagle Square in English, is a square near the port where boats arrive and depart. When visitors arrive by boat on this Malaysian island, they will see it for the first time. The reddish-brown eagle was formed as a symbol of the island since Langkawi's name was derived from two Malay terms, Helang, which means "eagle," and Kawi, which means "reddish brown," according to legend. It is one of Langkawi's most well-known landmarks.
