Climbing in Mt. Kinabalu

Open Time : 9:00 a.m - 7:00p.m

Entry : free

Address : Mount Kinabalu, Ranau, Sabah, Malaysia

Why to visit Climbing in Mt. Kinabalu

The speciality of the climbing lies in its location at a renowned World Heritage Site- Kinabalu Park. It has the most epic sunrise view and many variations of flora and fauna to witness. You'll also get delighted when you indulge in the exciting white River rafting expedition and breathtaking Via Ferata trails to your climb.

The mountain climb takes two days. On the first day you'll climb about 6 kilometres worth of steps, up through the lowland jungle, to around 11,000 feet above sea level. The second day is more technical: you'll get up early and climb to the summit. You will first need to climb to Laban Rata (the base camp), where you’ll be expected to rest and stay for the evening, before rising bright and early at 1.30am to begin your steeper summit climb.

On the tour's actual day, you will be picked up and driven to a jetty where the boat will be waiting for you. If the sea or weather conditions are favourable, the boat ride will take us out to sea before returning to the jetty.

Special Tip

If you enjoy hiking up the mountain and then relaxing in the hot springs, combining your Kota Kinabalu trip with a relaxing dip at the Poring Hotsprings is a terrific option for you.
