Why to visit Lucknow Zoo

To commemorate the visit of the Prince of Wales to Lucknow in 1921, Nawab Nasiruddin Haider built a 71.6-acre zoo on 71.6 acres of land. Prince of Wales Zoological Gardens, or Nawab Wazid Ali Shah Prani Udyan, is another name for it. Lucky Zoo has a wide variety of mammal and bird species including the regal Bengal tiger, white tiger, Himalayan black bear and Asiatic lion - amongst others.Aside from housing over a thousand animals, the Lucknow Zoo also offers a toy train trip through the zoo.

Special Tip

The zoo is closed every Monday.
