Why to visit Andharban

The location is near the village of Pimpri, and it is about an hour and a half drive from Lonavala. Andharban is regarded for being the best monsoon trekking destination, perched at a height of around 2160 feet. The trek is unique in that it includes a descending trail that is ideal for amateurs and beginners. It is surrounded by misty clouds and dreamy forests with tinkling waterfalls and shadowy pathways.

The hike is not only a thrilling adventure activity but also a fantastic retreat into the lap of nature, with stunning vistas of the Kundalika Valley, thick emerald foliage, delicate ponds, and a diverse flora and fauna. You will be amazed by the view and stunning landscape surrounding you, in addition to the strong adrenaline rush.

There are a couple of lakeside temples (some of which are in ruins) where you can rest or explore. Andharban Trek is regarded as one of the region's easiest, most picturesque, and spectacular treks.

How to reach Andharban ?

The Andharban journey begins in Pimpri the base settlement. There are regular public buses that run between Lonavala and Mumbai that can take you to the village.

What is the best time to visit this place?

Andharban is best visited during the monsoon season which runs from June to September. The rains have turned the entire area green and the waterfalls are gushing down in all their splendour. Winter is another good time to explore the region especially between October and January. The misty mountains and foggy green woodlands are a sight to behold even if it is a little chilly.

Wear comfortable footwear, preferable sports shoes or sneakers with a grip as the road is very slippery.
