Cherai Beach, one of the most popular beaches in the state, is located 30 kilometres from Kochi city. Its strategic location on the northern end of Kochi's Vypin Island makes it an ideal meeting point between the sea and the backwaters. The beauty of the water is enhanced by the surrounding flora, seashells of all shapes, and Chinese fishing nets. Its shoreline, which stretches for around 15 kilometres, sets it apart from the rest of the beaches.
