Why to visit Parvati River

Parvati River flows through the Parvati Valley in Himachal Pradesh. The river originates from the Man Talai Glacier, flowing north through Parvati Valley and eventually flowing into the Beas River near Kulu. To get to the opposite side of the river, one must cross a rickety old wooden bridge, which is kind of exciting.

History

Lord Shiva meditated here for more than 3,000 years. It is thought that he meditated there for some time before eventually changing into an ash-smeared or naga sadhu. After a very long time, Lord Shiva finally opened his eyes, gazed around at this pristine, beautiful environment, and gave it the name Parvati.
