Why to visit Thirparappu Falls
Kanyakumari is roughly 60 kilometres away from Thirparappu Falls. These natural waterfalls, which flow into the Kothai River, are reached after a difficult road drive through picturesque surroundings, rubber fields, and jack fruit trees. Water pours down the approximately 300-foot-long fall with enormous force from a height of 50 feet.
Below, the water accumulates in a charming pool that is a great location for kids to splash around. The falls are surrounded by lush vegetation and local wildlife, making it a haven for environment lovers. The best time to visit Thirparappu Falls is as a day trip from Kanyakumari or as a pit stop on the way to Trivandrum.
There is a play area, a kiddie pool, and a well-kept park nearby as well. There is a shrine called the Mahadevar Temple close to the falls. The 9th century temple, which was built in the characteristic Keralan style, is hypnotic against the calm water of the falls and the neighbouring rocks.
If you're interested in bathing, take a plunge in the creek that runs in front of the temple. Take a boat ride over the serene waters of Thirparappu and let the breathtaking scenery surround you.
