Why to visit Toorji ka Jhalra

Toorji ka Jhalra, one of the most beautiful kunds or stepwells in Rajasthan, is located in Jodhpur. The jhalra, or stepwell, was built in the 1740s by a queen of Maharaja Abhay Singh. The queens or royal ladies had a long tradition of building stepwells or step-ponds in Jodhpur. Aside from them, some wealthy businessmen, royal servants, and others contributed to the construction of the stepwells. Even the royal eunuch servants built two stepwells in the city.

Special Tip

It is picturesque for photography, and there is a source of drinking and bathing water nearby.
