Why to visit Rahmi M. Koç Museum

This is one of Istanbul's most major tourist attractions, providing visitors with information on the history of communication, transportation, and industry. The Rahmi M Koç Museum's varied displays are especially popular with kids, as they include opportunity to sit in an antique car, travel on a 1936 steam tug (summer weekends only), board a 1944 US military submarine, and much more.

The museum is separated into two sections: a new structure on the Golden Horn side and a renovated Byzantine stone structure directly across the street. Thousands of objects are on display, the majority of them are from Mr. Rahmi M. Koç's personal collection. Full-size ships, vintage aircraft, steam engines, submarines, agricultural machinery, and many more artefacts from Istanbul's industrial past are among the exhibits on display.

The Rahmi M. Koc Museum (Rahmi M. Koç Müzesi) is located on Istanbul's historic Golden Horn on the north shore. It is Turkey's only significant museum dedicated to the history of transportation, industry, and communications, and it was founded by the Koç family.

Taking the Halic Hatti (Golden Horn Route) ferry from Eminonu, Karakoy, or Uskudar to Haskoy is the most enjoyable method to go to the museum.

Special Tip

The admission charge for adults is 12.5 TL, and the fee for students is approximately 6 TL. In addition, the submarine is not accessible to children under the age of eight.
