Why to visit Mikla

Its spectacular views of Istanbul include the Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi Palace, and it is located on the top of the prestigious Marmara Pera hotel. Mikla is urban, sleek, and stylish, with classic chrome furnishings and a bar fashioned of wooden railroad ties. As the sun sets on this old city, inhale gentle jasmine fragrances and enjoy a liberally proportioned martini.

Chef-Owner Mehmet Gürs, who pioneered Istanbul's contemporary restaurant scene, has a Turkish-Scandinavian ancestry, which is reflected in the food. Gürs expertly blends Turkish and Scandinavian cooking skills to create delicacies like raw grouper with olives and lemon, as well as a Turkish coffee vanilla slice with raspberry sorbet. Mamara Pera's roof terrace bar is ideal for pre-dinner beverages.

Special Tip

They provide delicious seafood. I tasted their delectable sea bass and octopus, both of which were really flavorful and wonderful and are a must-try. However, this place is closed on Sundays.
