White Church is one of central India's oldest churches. Sir Robert M C Hamilton, Governor General of India, built it in 1858. The church exhibits ancient British architecture, which was common in most protestant churches in Britain. The church was primarily constructed for Christians living in India as well as army personnel who frequently visited the city prior to independence.
