One of the ancient temples in India is the Maya Devi temple in Haridwar, which dates to the 11th century. The temple, which honours the Hindu goddess Maya, is also one of the three Shaktipeeth, thought to be the spot where Goddess Sati's heart and navel are said to have fallen. Several devotees visit this location to participate in the Kumbh Mela and Navaratri celebrations.
