Why to visit Guwahati Planetarium
The Guwahati Planetarium is a research and science centre dedicated to astronomy. In north-east India, this is the only planetarium. The starfield projector, the theatre's sound system, and special effects are all powered by the Japanese Goto GX instrument. The planetarium's beautiful dome makes it easy to find on Guwahati's skyline. Daily shows are available in Hindi, English, and Assamese. Apart from normal visits, the planetarium regularly hosts exhibitions, solar eclipse viewings outside, quizzes, and conferences. This planetarium's main business is research, but there are also educational programmes and presentations on a regular basis.
