Why to visit Tashi View Point

Tashi Viewpoint, located 8 kilometres from centre Gangtok, is a picturesque wonder from which visitors may see the spectacular Mount Sinilochu and Mount Kanchenjunga. Tashi Namgyal, the king of Sikkim from 1914 to 1963, constructed it, and that is how the town earned its name. Tashi Viewpoint, developed by Sikkim's tourism agency and situated in an ideal location, offers a stunning view of the snow-capped Himalayas. Due to the availability of a restaurant and sheds adjoining the viewpoint location, this spot also serves as a fantastic picnic spot for both local and foreign tourists. The scenic atmosphere, in addition to its tranquillity, contributes significantly to the travellers' ability to enjoy a view of the Phodong Monastery and Labrang Monastery from this location.

Special Tip

The best time to visit Tashi View Point is between March and June, when the weather is lovely and mild.
