Why to visit Rumtek Monastery
Rumtek monastery is a renowned tourist attraction in Gangtok, Sikkim. The monastery is part of the Kagyu Buddhist sect, which first arrived in Tibet in the 12th century. The style and structure are similar to the one in Tsurphu, Tibet. The main temple is a four-story structure with Tibetan-style murals and a golden sculpture on top.
