Why to visit Khangchendzonga National Park

The Kanchenjunga Biosphere Reserve, also known as Khangchendzonga, is the ultimate of natural beauty. KNP is one of just a few high-altitude national parks in the country, and it was recently admitted into UNESCO's World Heritage Sites list. The area has spectacular glaciers, pristine lakes, verdant valleys, and a variety of endangered flora and animals, in addition to Mt. Kanchenjunga, the world's third highest peak, which towering above the park and its surrounds. Keep a watch out for Himalayan blue sheep, Asiatic wild dogs, red pandas, and musk deer, to mention a few, if you're trekking in the area. A sighting of a snow leopard, if you're lucky, will undoubtedly brighten your day.

Special Tip

Along the trip, don't pick any flowers or saplings. Also, if you happen to come across an animal sighting, keep quiet and avoid bothering the animals.
