Why to visit Gyuto Monastery
This monastery is well-known for tantric meditation, and its residents devote a great deal of time to studying the subject. It's also noted for its Buddhist philosophy and tantric ritual arts. Gyuto monastery was established in 1474 by the 1st Dalai Lama's chief student. It is located in the town of Dharamshala, which is easily accessible by road, train, and air. The 17th Karmapa, the Karma Kagyu's spiritual leader, is temporarily residing in this Buddhist monastery. The temple structure is stunning. The monks chant and charge the atmosphere at a Karmapa Puja, which is an energising experience.
Special Tip
There are magnificent Buddha sculptures set against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains. It is the most tranquil and serene spot to be if you wish to spend a pleasant afternoon.
