Why to visit Baba Baidyanath Temple
Given that it is one of India's Fifty-one Shakti Peeths and one of the twelve jyotirlingas, Hindus consider the Baidyanath Temple to be a fortunate place of worship. The Hindu god Lord Shiva, who is considered to be supreme, is said to reside there.
The 72-foot-tall Baidyanath Dham temple has a lotus design and is constructed of stone. Here Baidyanath is facing east. In addition to the Baidyanath temple, the complex contains 22 other temples to different gods.
Three gold pots in an ascending form make up the top. In addition to these receptacles, there is a "Punchsula," which is an eight-petaled lotus jewel known as Chandrakanta Mani, and a set of five blades in the shape of a trident.
The central lingam is about 5 inches in diameter and protrudes outward from the slab's middle by about 4 inches. There are idols of Maa Parvathi, Maa Kali, Maa Jagat Janani, Kal Bhairav, and Lakshminarayan to worship in the shrines.
Millions of worshippers come to the shrine annually during the Shravan mela. It is amazing how they transport water 108 kilometres distant, from Sultanganj, from the Ganges River to the shrine.
