Why to visit Shantivan

The Shanti Vana is a temple in the heart of Delhi that occupies 52.6 acres. It is a well-known location for picnicking with loved ones and taking a leisurely stroll along the trail surrounded by trees. The names of the dignitaries who planted the trees are also inscribed on the trees.

The park is a sight to see in the spring because it is also a haven for many birds and squirrels. This park, which is bursting with flower colours, is one of Delhi's few peaceful and tranquil locations.

On Children's Day every year, the Shanti Vana is additionally adorned in honour of this memory. The beliefs and demeanour of Nehru form the foundation of Congress's current platform. The Raj Ghat Gandhi Memorial, which is about five minutes' walk from Shanti Vana, is to the north of the memorial.

Where Shanti Van is located? 

In the heart of Delhi, close to the Geeta colony bridge across the Yamuna, and to the north of Raj Ghat (Gandhi Memorial), is where you'll find the Shanti Vana. It is close to Red Fort and conveniently reachable by road.

Entrance fee and timings at Shanti Van:

The Shanti Vana does not charge an entrance fee. Every day of the week, the park is open from 5:00 am until 7:30 pm. Visitors are welcome to pay respects to the outstanding leader and social icon.

Depending on the distance, a DTC bus or an auto-rickshaw can take you directly to Shanti Vana. The park features a bus station that goes by the name of Shanti Vana bus stop, making it incredibly easy for guests to get there. The metro is also another convenient method of getting to the Shanti Vana. Shanti Vana is only 1.7 km from Jama Masjid metro station, the closest metro station.

Special Tip

Before entering the walkway encircling the shrine, take off your shoes. Given that the area is open and exposed to the weather, wear sunscreen and a hat. Since there aren't any roving sellers here, bring lots of water.
