Why to visit Red fort
Red Fort Delhi is a monument that everyone should see because of its stunning red sandstone construction, rich historical background, and significant national relevance. In addition, the UNESCO has designated the Red Fort in Delhi as a World Heritage Site.
Shah Jahan erected the Red Fort. It took almost ten years to complete the fort's construction. It is the location from which the Indian Prime Minister raises the flag of the country each year on the eve of Independence Day, on August 15.
Architecture of Red Fort:
- The Red Fort's immense size and bright red colour are the first things you'll notice about it. Red sandstone was used to construct Red Fort, giving it its distinctive brick red colour.
- The fort's tallest structure is about 33 metres high. The Delhi Red Fort has two major gates, long east and west sides, and an atypical octagon-shaped structure.
Entrance Fee and Timings of Red Fort:
The hours for the Red Fort are 9.30 AM to 4.30 PM. With the exception of Mondays, it is open every day of the week. The hours of operation for Red Fort Delhi are 9.30 AM and 4.30 PM.
Red Fort entry fee is Rs.35 per person for Indian citizens and Rs.500 per person for foreign visitors.
Visiting Duration at Red Fort:
Red Fort can be seen in as little as two hours, but if you want to see everything all, it will take you at least three and possibly four.
About the Light and Sound Show at Red Fort:
- The Red Fort's renowned light and sound display is an hour-long audiovisual presentation that depicts both the fort's and Delhi's history. Both Hindi and English are used to present the shows.
- From November to January, the Hindi programme begins at around 6 o'clock, while the English show starts at 7.30 o'clock. As the season changes between September and August, each performance starts about 30 minutes later than usual.
- You will pay Rs. 60 for each adult, compared to Rs. 20 for each child. The cost of the tickets varies a little over the weekend. It costs Rs. 80 for adults and Rs. 30 for children.
