Gurramkonda, also known as Zafarabad, is a hill-fort settlement. It once housed almost forty mosques, all of which have since been demolished. Hazrath Shah Kamal, a Sufi Saint from Old Persia, arrived and resided here. He converted the residents to Islam and disseminated it throughout the community and its environs.
