Why to visit Ayyanakere Lake

Twenty kilometres from the town of Chikmagalur is Ayyanakere Lake. Tourists come to the lake to see the sunrise and sunset on the Agumbe and Sringeri Hills. With a goal of maintaining and enhancing the fertility of the land, it was developed in the 12th century. In addition, it is a boon to farmers, as it allows them to irrigate 21,560 hectares.

Special Tip

If you get hungry, bring some snacks and drink with you because there are very few or no places to eat nearby.
