Mawsynram, set amidst the lush green woods of the Khasi Hills, has been dubbed the world's rainiest location. With a razor-thin margin, it has passed Cherrapunji, the previous holder of the title. Mawsynram receives approximately 11,873 mm of rainfall per year, while Cherrapunji receives approximately 11,777 mm.
