Why to visit Valluvar Kottam

Those of you who enjoy literature are likely to have heard or read about Thiruvalluvar, a famous Tamil poet and saint. Thiruvalluvar is regarded as one of the greatest Tamil scholars by the uninitiated. Valluvar Kottam's beauty is best appreciated early in the morning or as the sun sets. Valluvar Kottam is also the site of some of the city's most prominent exhibitions and events. Handlooms and handicrafts are often displayed in the air-conditioned theatre, which is a pleasant place to spend a few hours enjoying the creative splendour of both the interior and outdoors.

Special Tip

Adult tickets cost INR 3 and children's tickets cost INR 2. It takes about an hour or a little more to walk around this area, and it is ideal for history aficionados and photographers.
