Why to visit Gasa Tshachus

The Gasa Tshachus, which are formed on flat land at the Gasa Tashithongmoen base, are well-known in the little gorge on Mochu's right bank. Each pool's water temperature fluctuates, allowing visitors to pick the one that suits them best. Bathing facilities have also been installed to keep the Hot Springs clean and sanitary. There is also an outdoor pool nearby that is commonly utilised by both domestic and wild animals, including Takins.

There are four concrete ponds with a depth of three feet to treat various ailments, and each pond can accommodate twelve people under the roof at once. Sinusitis, arthritis, skin illness, TB, rheumatism, ulcers, indigestion, and other ailments can be cured by soaking in the ponds for an extended period of time. You can visit the monastery of Dendup Norzang after or before taking a bath.

Visitors must hike for about 40 minutes from the neighbouring road to the springs on the valley bottom to reach the Gasa Hot Spring. There is also the option of driving half way to Damji, from whence it is a wonderful six-hour journey to Gasa via gorgeous hills covered in green pine and oak forests.

Special Tip

Although there is no hotel, you can stay at one of the four guesthouses. Watersheds are open everyday day. There is a private bath and lighting throughout the compound. The road is in moderate condition. Since public transportation is not an option, drive a light or medium-duty car.
