Why to visit Odisha State Museum
The museum was founded in 1932 and relocated to its current location in 1960. It was the result of a collaboration between well-known historians. Archeology, epigraphy, numismatics, armoury, mining & geology, natural history, art & craft, patta painting, anthropology, and palm leaf manuscripts are among the 11 areas of the state museum.
Prof NC Banerjee and Prof Ghanshyam Dash, two distinguished historians of Ravenshaw College, are the brains behind the Odisha State Museum. To take a tour of the museum and see all of the exhibits, you'll need at least two hours. The museum is divided into nine parts, each of which houses distinct collections that are organised into categories.
