Devanahalli Fort, which covers an area of 20 acres, is one of India's largest forts with the most elaborate architecture. Due to its historical significance, it draws lots of tourists from India and other nations.

  • Chandramouleshwara Temple is a temple with a Shiva Linga in the sanctum sanctorum and an inner prakara built in the Vijayanagara style.

  • The oldest temple inside the fort is Nanjundeshwara Temple. Previously, it was known as Kashi Vishveshwara.
  • One of the many religious buildings housed within the fort complex is Raghavendraswamy Math.
  • A monument marking the spot where Tipu Sultan was born is just 150 metres outside the fort.

  • The fort is near Devanahalli, 35 kilometres north of Bangalore. Take the Bangalore-Hyderabad National Highway 7; do not take the exit for the airport; instead, continue straight until you see a sign for the "Devanahalli Township" subdivision above your head.
  • To get there, make a right turn and continue driving for another half kilometre. Your vehicles are permitted inside the fort.
