Why to visit Dashrath Bhavan
Dashrath Bhavan, situated in central Ayodhya, is the original residence of King Dashrath, the esteemed ruler of Ayodhya and the father of Shri Ram. It is popularly known as Bada Asthan or Badi Jagah and houses temples of Shri Ram. It is believed that Lord Ram spent his childhood here, and king Dashrath’s capital was also situated within its walls.
Though smaller than King Dasrath's original palace, Dashrath Bhavan attracts many during events like Ram Vivah, Karthik Mela, Diwali, Ram Navami, and Shravan Mela. Within its premises you’ll find saffron-clad monks chanting mantras, singing, and dancing.
