Why to visit Chhatrapati Shivaji Museum

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Museum in Aurangabad, which houses six exhibition halls, offers a wealth of information about Maratha heroism.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Museum, located near Nehru Bal Udyan and named after the great Maratha emperor Shivaji Maharaj, houses a magnificent collection of Maratha Empire artefacts. The 500-year-old armour, an equally ancient traditional Paithani saree, and a copy of the Holy Quran penned by Aurangzeb are the museum's principal attractions.

This museum houses artefacts, weaponry, paintings, and coins from Maharashtra during the 17th century, when the famous monarch Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ruled.

This museum does not have any of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's personal weaponry, but it does have weapons and coins from the time period.
