Why to visit Macchi Bhawan

The Fish Chamber, also known as Machchi Bhawan, is thought to have been used to grow gold fish for the Emperor. It is said to have formerly had marble fountains and tanks in front of the Diwan-i-Khas. Badshahnama, on the other hand, refers to this structure as a treasury for royal treasures and jewels. The quadrangle comprises a large courtyard to the north with an entrance and triple-story arched galleries on the other three sides. A tiny marble pavilion with a sun medallion on its ceiling spreads forth from the southern side's upper storey. It is thought to be where the Emperor's Golden Throne was situated to allow him to see the entire court below.

Special Tip

This location is within the Agra Fort so, there is no special entrance cost. Definately enjoy this long lasting and free of cost experience amidst Agra!
