The Yungdrung Tibetan monastery in Solan, which was founded in the 7th century, is one of the world's oldest monasteries, and others argue it is India's oldest.
The government operates local buses, which are safe to ride. Traveling by bus is unique in that you get to see a lot of the city while on the bus. They will, however, be packed throughout the early and evening hours due to the presence of office workers.
